When we support our local food suppliers, we’re getting behind quality food, care for the environment, as well as our local communities and economy. Let’s face it – food tastes better and remains fresher when it doesn’t have to travel too far. The term “farm-to-table” is the hallmark of buying local.
Every month we try to feature a new local Artisan and showcase their products in one of our product offerings. If you are a local Artisan and would like to be featured on our boards and gifts, please contact us.
Agriculture
Agriculture in BC is a community affair that benefits everyone. There’s peace-of-mind knowing we have access to high quality foods produced sustainably every season. Most farms in BC are family-owned; so we know hard work and love are a big part of BC’s farming process. Buying local, supports our farmers and local communities. “Buying local” from local farms and artisans preserve the local farm economy, and provides the freshest, healthiest food to local consumers.

Small businesses play a vital role in creating jobs, strengthening a sense of community and enhancing local character. Small, locally-based artisans make fundamental contributions to our neighborhoods. These small business owners account for the largest share of net new jobs generated each year, and provide some of the most stable employment opportunities. We realize that local businesses trend towards a less negative impact on the environment, since they are often located in central business districts or retail areas, that do not require large infrastructure and can easily adapt to public services. Today’s entrepreneurs and creative workers gravitate towards the kinds of places that value and preserve their distinctive local culture and character– the kinds of places that nurture an economy of vibrant, unique businesses.
Check out our Meat Platters, Cheese Platter, and Party Platters – all consist of ingredients and products from our local Artisans.
