October 2021 is an awesome month for family and friends. October marks the beginning of the festive season, as we celebrate Thanksgiving and Halloween this month. Hockey season is also on! It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 18 months since we were able to watch a live hockey game. It’s finally time to celebrate!
This month we created a charcuterie board that is inspired by everything October brings with it. Thanksgiving is all about celebrating our fall harvest by our local farmers and blessings this past year. As one of our favorite family holidays we thought it would be a great idea to incorporate a turkey breast at the center of the board along with a savory cranberry jalapeño jelly made locally by Davison Orchards in Vernon, BC. We decided to add a delicious local honey horseradish grainy mustard made by SmakDab to this board as it compliments the turkey breast very nicely. So take a piece of cracker, a wedge of brie, a slice of turkey and top it off with some delicious cranberry jalapeño jelly and enjoy this perfect bite. This board is garnished with fresh cranberries and a mini pumpkin.
