Comté
Comté is a french cheese made from unpasteurized cow’s milk in the Jura Massif region of Eastern France bordering Switzerland. The Comté is a semi-hard cheese that is rich and creamy with a nutty aroma. This cheese is one of the most famous cheeses that come from France and is considered one of the finest cheeses in the world. Comté received the AOC (Appellation d'origine controlee) status in 1958. Comté cheese also has a PDO designation (Protected Designation of Origin) which means that for this cheese to be produced it must be produced within the Jura Massif region of Eastern France and follow strict guidelines. Our Comté is aged for approximately 24 months.
